Gates of Jerusalem Series 9: The Eastern Gate PDF Print

Nehemiah 3
29  After them Zadok the son of Immer carried out repairs in front of his house. And after him Shemaiah the son of Shecaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, carried out repairs.

Matthew 21
1  When they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,  2  saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me.  3  "If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, `The Lord has need of them,' and immediately he will send them."  4  This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:  5  "Say to the daughter of Zion,  `Behold your King is coming to you,  Gentle, and mounted on a donkey,  Even on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.' "  6  The disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them,  7  and brought the  donkey and the colt, and laid their coats on them; and He sat on the coats.  8  Most of the crowd spread their coats in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them in the road.  9  The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting,  "Hosanna to the Son of David;  Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord;  Hosanna in the     highest!"  10  When He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, "Who is this?"  11  And the crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee."  12  And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the    moneychangers and the seats of those who were selling doves.  13  And He ^said to them, "It is written, `My house shall be called a house of prayer'; but you are making it a robbers' den."  14  And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

I Corinthians 6
18  Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.  19  Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?  20  For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

Ezekiel 43
1  Then he led me to the gate, the gate facing toward the east;  2  and behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the east. And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory.

4  And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate facing toward the east.  5  And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house.  6  Then I heard one speaking to me from the house, while a man was standing beside me.  7  He said to me, "Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell among the sons of Israel forever. And the house of Israel will not again defile My holy name, neither they nor their kings, by their harlotry and by the corpses of their kings when they die,  8  by setting their threshold by My threshold and their door post beside My door post, with only the wall between Me and them. And they have defiled My holy name by their abominations which they have   committed. So I have consumed them in My anger.  9  "Now let them put away their harlotry and the corpses of their kings far from Me; and I will dwell among them forever.

Psalm 118
19
  Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to the Lord.
20  This is the gate of the Lord;  The righteous will enter through it.

26  Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord;
We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.
